Why do we need your contributions:

Because the Litchfield Hills Chore Service is funded by a federal grant from the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging which provides only partial reimbursement for our Chore Worker’s wages and nothing for overhead, administrative staff, supplies or insurance, the Chore Service must seek additional funding if it is to survive.

Who else contributes:

The towns of Goshen, Litchfield, Morris, Roxbury, Warren and Washington pay a small assessment, and the Chore Clients themselves contribute what they can toward the program.

Grants and donations:

However, this falls far short of the funds necessary to keep the agency alive and allow it to provide these much needed services to our elderly. Therefore, the Litchfield Hills Chore Service continually seeks donations from the community and searches for and applies for funding from other grants. This is a never ending process which takes valuable time from our main goal of serving our elderly, but vital if we are to fulfill our mission.
